NEW SMALL GROUPS PERIODWe recently started a new period of small groups, and this time one more group has been added! We now have eleven groups that will be gathering for thirteen weeks. The Bible studies will be about the miracles of Jesus. We are expecting a growth in our church during this time.HELP US TO HELPWe have a new church member! Baby Joshua Perez was born on April 15th. He weighed 6 lbs 8oz and was a true miracle from the Lord! He was born 5 weeks premature and did not need to be in the incubator. Praise the Lord! We have another lady in our congregation that is expecting a baby girl due in May. Can you help them with baby supplies and baby clothing?

SPECIAL MOTHER'S DAY SERVICE

We will have a special celebration honoring our Mother on May 9th. After the service, we will gather at the Municipal Park for a pot luck and fellowship time. All dads will be grilling chicken for our moms!

GARAGE SALE

We are planning a garage sale to raise money for our family camp. Another purpose for the sale is to invite the Hispanic community and make new contacts. It will be held in May. If you have any donations, please bring them to Pastor Moises' garage. We appreciate your help!

I am praising God as I write this thinking about the glorious District Prime Time Day we had April 14th. I had the best group of people, to do all the jobs there were, to make something like this be successful. Thank you to all of them! We also heard great music from the Burchfield Brothers. It was a great day!The choir has begun practicing a 4th of July musical called "This Is My Country". It takes a look at our heritage as a country and how it was built on Biblical principles of Almighty God. If you would like to join the choir for this event we would love to have you. We will present it at the 9:30 a.m. service on July 4th. I stand amazed in wonder of the God that makes all things new. If you ever doubt that, take a look at the way He made nature. This spring has been one of the most beautiful that I can remember since moving here in 1990. Why is it different? I believe God is just showing Himself to me in a big way to prove to me that He is great! May you see His greatness and marvel in His goodness.

I want to encourage each one of you to give a special invitation to friends and family for Easter Sunday, April 4th. We are planning an incredible day which will include a special time of invitation for family and friends to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. As I have been preaching the "Forty Days of Love" series, my love for God and for others have increased. I trust yours has also been strengthened. God has called us to share his love with each one we know. Easter Sunday will include the special Sunrise Service as well as both morning worship times. As I am writing today, my heart is full as nine of us prepare to leave for the Jesus Film Trip. We can feel your prayers as we get ready to show the Jesus Film and to establish a church in Palmapampa, Bolivia Thank you for generous support and prayers that have made this trip possible. The entire church is a part of this trip. As we lift Jesus up, men will be drawn to Him. I pray this same passion will continue to drive each one in our church family to do the very same thing here at home. Let's share Jesus. In preparing for Easter, I have taken a few moments to read through the accounts of the final week in Jesus' earthly life. I am overwhelmed by his love for us. To think that he died for me-wow! I pray we never take for granted the fact that God chose to be in relationship with us. This love does compel us!Lee Strobel, in The Case for Christ, recounts the overwhelming evidence of the death, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He reminds his readers of the eye witness accounts of not only a few, but many which saw Jesus Christ resurrected. Although he began his investigation as an atheist, he came to the conclusion that Jesus is real, ultimately giving his life to Jesus Christ. Family, keep praying for the hard cases in your life. Don't give up. Keep loving your family and friends. As you can see, God is continuing to keep an outward focus for ministry. I am so proud of our church family-thank you for giving to the Lord. 1. Community Funeral Dinners: 74 volunteers to help serve dinner to any family in this time of need.2. Building Update: Much progress is being made. I ask that each one of you continue to do something toward giving. All of us can do something -don't miss the blessings.3. Ministry to families: Excitement continues to build in our teen and children's ministries. Mark your calendars for this year's Spring Revival with Dr. Larry Fine, religion professor at MNU. The dates will be Friday, April 9th thru Sunday, April 11th. Let's keep celebrating, connecting, and contributing for the cause of Jesus Christ. I appreciate each one of you.God Bless,Pastor Dustin

....... we believe that God has an incredible plan for His teens. Just as He used David in a mighty way to take down Goliath, we exist to do BIG Things for God. We are founded on the verse found in 1 Samuel 17:40, "Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd's bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine." God chose David while he was just a teen and then used him in mighty ways his entire life. We believe that God is calling today's teens in the same way He called David. They will do great things in His name and leave their mark on this world. Whether it is facing down giants, fighting for the spiritual lives of their friends, leading this generation, or simply worshipping God, we are called because we seek after God's heart.

Club 56, a ministry designed specifically for students in 5th & 6th grade, will now be meeting on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the children's chapel. Reaching the pre-teen age group is always a challenge and for that reason we have a special ministry set aside just for them. During Club 56, we will have an absolute blast praising God in various ways. We will play a couple of high energy games, just to get the program under way. After games, we give God our all with a few praise and worship songs, followed by a quick teaching time to introduce the topic and Bible verse for the night. We will also work with puppets and develop a stick ministry. One Tuesday each quarter, we will visit a local nursing home to reach out to others.

JAIL MINISTRIES We have services held at the County Jail every Tuesday night. These services are with the Hispanics inmates. We have wonderful testimonies of many of them, of how those lives were changed by Jesus Christ. We had almost 120 inmates in the year and 40 of them accept to Jesus.Let me share with you this testimony: Panchita is a member from our Hispanic congregation. She filled a prayer request card for her son Jose on February 18. In this prayer request, she wrote: "Please pray for my son, he is in drugs." Two weeks later, she called me crying and said: "Pastor Moses, the police took my son and he is jail." He was in jail for 66 days and every Tuesday he came to the service that we had with the inmates. In one of this jail services, he accepted Jesus as his savior and this Sunday he will be telling us his testimony in our church; Praise the Lord!

FOOD DISTRIBUTIONEvery two weeks we pick up food from Compassionate Ministries of Carthage and distribute to the Hispanic families.

CLOTHING DISTRIBUTIONMany donated clothing and shoes from the Church Family were distributed among the Hispanic people. Thank you very much to our Church Family.

Family! We seek to fulfill our mission of honoring Christ by helping the family and their needs of today. From the first moment you enter the doors of Carthage First Nazarene a sense of belonging is found.Uplifting worship, singing, practical Biblical teaching and warm acceptance is what makes our church a special place! Our ministries and services reflect our belief and mission that attending church should be enjoyable, uplifting and meaningful in developing a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our BeliefsOur church is a community of believers with Jesus Christ as its head. We seek to love, respect and care for one another as a demonstration of our love for God.

Our outreach is to those who have no church home. Many in our area are disillusioned with religion. They have felt the sting of legalism with its impossible demands. Some have seen hypocrisy. Others have had no religious background and therefore see Christianity as irrelevant. The missing element has been healthy relationships with mature believers in Jesus.

The Vision

Our vision is to reach our community and make a difference in the lives they live through the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe we can accomplish this through helping people discover God's purpose for their life through teamwork, creativity and excellence.
